Tony Mengine & Katie Killion Obtained Jury Award of $15.8 Million to Work-Zone Crash Victim

A Connecticut construction company was ordered Monday to pay $15.8 million in damages to the family of a Finleyville woman injured in a Route 51 crash in Pleasant Hills, a day before her daughter’s wedding four years ago.

An Allegheny County Common Pleas Court jury Monday found Lane Construction Corp., PennDOT, and the driver of the other vehicle negligent in a civil case brought by relatives of Brenda Gump-Schragl, then 52, who suffered brain injuries and was in a coma for five weeks after the June 11, 2010, crash.
